FAD (FORMULA AND DIAPERS) by First Presbyterian Church Of Fort Worth Foundation
FAD (Formula And Diapers) Program helps meet the needs of families with infants and toddlers. Church volunteers distribute the diapers and formula to members of our community in need at Community Crossroads on the third Monday morning of every month free of cost.

Financial Assistance

Helps people in the towns of Red Oak, Ferris, and Glenn Heights. Funds may assist with rent, prescription medications, and utility bills. A thrift store, Christmas Toy/Gift Program, and minor home repair program are also available.

Lancaster Outreach Center – 972-227-0138
Provides grants for electricity bills. Other resources include a food pantry, mental health counseling, and Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for Ellis County Texas area.

Waxahachie Care – 972-923-2273
Call them for low priced goods from the thrift store. Other aid is offered for TXU and Reliant bills, monthly rent, water expenses, and even medical bills. Free school supplies are offered too.

Helping Hands of Ennis – 972-875-0218
Supports residents in the eastern part of the county. The location provides information and referral. Call for applications on limited emergency assistance for buying groceries, paying rent and utilities TXU only. Donations that are taken also allow the center to provide shoes, coats and school supplies to school age children and teenagers. The Spirit of Sharing Thrift Shop also sells good, used items either free or reduced.

Hope Clinic – 972-923-2440
Staffed by volunteer doctors and nurses as well as other medical professionals. Outpatient medical clinic serves low income and uninsured residents of Ellis County. Dental and chiropractic care available and other services include acute and chronic medical care.

Transportation

Medicaid Transportation
Medicaid provides free transportation for Texas Health Steps patients and most others who use Medicaid medical and dental services, provided they have no other mean of transportation to make it to receive medically necessary care services. Children with Medicaid and their parent or caregiver can get free rides or money to help get to and from the doctor, dentist, hospital, or drug store. Some adults with Medicaid can get free rides, too. Arrange rides by calling Medicaid’s toll-free transportation hotline: 1-877-MED-TRIP Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Clients in the Dallas/Fort Worth Service Delivery Area (SDA) should call LogistiCare at 1-855-687-3255 Toll Free to arrange services.

Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Program – 800-252-8023
Provides health care for children with special health care needs. It also covers people of all ages with cystic fibrosis.

Provides transportation to Elis County Residents (Medicaid) to non-emergency medical appointments. Call a day in advance and before 4:00 pm. Transportation to cities depends on day of the week.

No “walk-ins”.  Assistance is available 24/7 to anyone regardless of gender, residency or situation when referred by the local law enforcement agencies or hospitals. ​
We receive referrals from law enforcement agencies, fire departments, churches, hospitals, individuals and other social service agencies. The needs of the client are reviewed for referral to the appropriate agency which can help them be restored to a productive life. Transportation assistance is available if we are unable to provide long-term services for them in Ellis County. Transportation assistance includes agency transport, long distance bus tickets, gasoline so they can get to other facilities and/or family and friends. Emergency shelter assistance includes a meal, bath, toiletries, clothing, and a warm bed.  Due to limited overnight staff and volunteers, emergency shelter is available only if there are no other options at the time.

Transitional housing program provides housing for single women, women with children and legally married couples who are residents of Ellis County.  Residents are provided with personalized case management services for an average of six months.  Other services include job search assistance, clothing, transportation, childcare, general health exam and financial stability training.  All residents are required to attend a local church of their choice.
